I am happy to announce that this special issue is now published in Volume 11, Issue 2 of the journal. Special thanks to my co-editors for nursing me through the process!

This special issue of the International Journal of Pervasive Computing and Communication consists of the extended high-quality papers presented at the 16th International Conference on Information Integration and Web-based Applications & Services (iiWAS2014) in Hanoi, Vietnam.

iiWAS is the leading international conference series for researchers and industry practitioners to share their new ideas, original research results and practical development experiences from all information integration and Web-based applications and services-related areas.

The six papers included in this special issue of IJPCC were selected from 37 papers presented at the conference. Each paper was extended to include new material to show clear motivation, comprehensive related work and significant proposal with extensive performance evaluation and/or implementation results. — Maria Indrawan-Santiago, Matthias Steinbauer, and Gabriele Anderst-Kotsis
